Should not intelligent, reasonable men of good will be able to agree on all things that matter?

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity. – “The Second Coming,”
William Butler Yeats

EU/Catastrophism and Philosophy

The EU principals DO ask about myth forensically but really ask a lot more than that. EU people ask “WHY?” Why is there such universality and overlap among the global myths? Given that, how could these ancient myths and beliefs be so out of sync with the reality that WE experience?

Given that it is just maximally implausible that the myths are pure fabrications from imagination, and the characters (gods) behave in radically different ways than nature’s aspects like wind, planets, and creatures like snakes, how and why did the different cultures have such an overlap? GIVEN THAT THE ANCIENTS TELL US conclusively that the gods were the planets, and that they rained down far-ranging, world or cosmic FIERY OR ELECTRICAL destruction, how can you not sync this up with the overwhelming geophysical evidence of enormous upheaval and catastrophe?

EU also asks: what is the race-wide pernicious or degrading affect upon the psyche of Mankind and human consciousness that has obviously sent us into a current state of collective guilt, denial, schizophrenic amnesia, and penultimate spiritual fragmentation?

Finally, EU COULD be asking: how has all this affected our fundamental concepts of ourselves, our philosophy/theology and experience of reality? Why are the world’s major religions still obsessed with imaginary supernatural agencies like demons and devils, jinns, genies, efrits and non-human messengers called angels? Why are they obsessed with the very worst kind of posited human destiny, a destiny to be literally burned forever while being kept alive? How is this not the very worst kind of spiritually depraved, superstitious concept ever proposed?

We now live in a world that has still NOT learned the lesson of history, a world where there is a looming conflict not only between quasi-Christian Western culture versus radicalized Islam (Islam taken seriously), but where there is now a burgeoning threat from a heavily populated, newly powerful China with a Chinese dictator who believes it is his and China’s sacred destiny to dominate and rule the world, and that there are no honorable rules that cannot be swept aside in order to get there.

The world continues to be contaminated with remanent Nazism, Zionizm, Marxism, Communism,  Fascism and various other flavors of political philosophy that lead to dictatorship.

Meanwhile our “sacred” institutions, both secular and spiritual, academic and religious, are fast going off into irrelevancy. The world of academe has repositioned philosophy so as to make it peripheral or irrelevant. This arena is full of nonsensical cosmology, a thoroughly false understanding of ancient times, and has an atheistic, evolutionistic, gradualistic foundation for the life sciences and geology. Not to mention it is bloated with politically oriented, ivory-tower academic apparatchiks, and is excessively expensive and increasingly irrelevant.

To me the facts take precedence and matter. These “facts” that we have reconstructed via many contributors, including Velikovsky, Talbott, Cardona, Juergens, Thornhill, et al. This information and my own dearly paid for experience tell me that the ancients were psychologically unhinged, and built a lot of intellectually irresponsible myth that was at its outset a problem and has turned into even more of a problem. The ancient myths–concerning the ultimate issues, of origins, the definition of a “God”, of how we should then live, and finally human potential and destiny–are false, debilitating and limiting.

Consequently, that the myths tell us how the ancients were and where they wanted to go spiritually carries little weight with me. IMO, we need to see that their mythology was counterproductive and produced by intellectually irresponsible people, even IF their spiritual destabilization was largely caused or exacerbated by external agencies, the forces of nature. At the same time, they were highly intelligent, creative, and with dimensions that maybe we have lost. IOW, they had their fair share of wisdom, and ours is largely JUST different and not necessarily better.

In my view, the psychological/spiritual recovery of the human race to this point in time has largely just gone sideways. Rather than moving toward a wholesome unity of purpose, values and belief, the human race just continues to fragmentize spiritually, and it seems that most people are prone to promote their religious nonsense instead of intellectual responsibility, which would guide us into unity and harmony. I wish it weren’t so, and that I didn’t have to keep pointing it out. The spiritual noise-to-signal level in the world seems to be reaching a crescendo.

Don’t think I don’t know that the above sounds arrogant, like a rant or tantrum to some people. Most today are spiritually jaded, apathetic to the truth, and don’t really believe in it or its efficacy, that it CAN be known and that it will set us free.

Here is the new adage for the day: “I think, therefore I am perceived as a crank!”
