Pensée: Pensée is a series of 10 journals conceived by David Talbott and Stephen Talbott with the first issue coming out in May 1972. Both the publisher, David, and the editor, Stephen, were intrigued by the ideas, work, and impact of Immanuel Velikovsky. They desired to provide an article forum for involved, knowledgeable people to evaluate the whole "Velikvosky affair" about 30 years after Worlds in Collision first broke upon Western civilization like a cultural and intellectual starburst in 1950. The Talbott brothers worked closely with Velikovsky and further published some of his additional articles. This series of journals was the first of its kind and was quite successful, covering a very wide range of facets, challenges, and aspects raised by the proposed reconstruction of ancient times. These journals were foundational, reaching a circulation close to 20,000, and were instrumental in increasing interest and support for planetary catastrophic thinking. They get credit for a groundswell of renewed interest in Velikovsky's reconstruction and the whole planetary catastrophism movement by providing the only medium for interested and supportive scholars to get their work published. Sometime after the planned series of 10 Journals was published, another group of scholars took up the mantle and began to publish the KRONOS Journals out of Princeton, New Jersey. Everybody that wants to be widely, deeply, and roundly educated should read these issues. Links Pensée Journals - Table of Contents with all article links |
