Theological Impertinence For those who have NOT: Shut out the noise of the world through prolonged isolation; internalized authority; taken the inward journey to know themselves, to discover--free from "shoulds"--their deepest and truest desires; and to acquaint themselves with the darkest corners of their own neuroses and psychoses; accepted themselves as they are; made the total commitment to rationality, logic and reason; become personally committed to honesty; become totally open to the truth; learned how to make good judgments through critical thinking; identified the ultimate issues and taken their stand; done their own fundamental philosophy; educated themselves in science and the scientific method; acquainted themselves on what other learned men have to say; personally researched the truth about what happened to ancient man; learned the true origins of the extant religions; and educated themselves in how inauthentic the origins of Christian materials really are; faced squarely the human condition; summoned the courage to challenge every currently held belief; taken total personal responsibility to build their belief system from ground zero; and chosen to believe the best; it is the epitome of impertinence and arrogance to promulgate as dogma or doctrine their theological opinion. |
